Around 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the area, producing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Hailstones and Extensive Impact
Residents reported giant hailstones as large as 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Southern State's Storm Challenges
At the same time, around 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the capital city saw its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams responded to 598 calls for help across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.
