In a bizarre collaboration that defies conventional forecasts, the game developer has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the official release, "An unusual meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of forbidden rituals and monstrous changes resonate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine sect.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses
The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Material
Players who accomplish the quest will receive an exclusive katana together with multiple objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's third complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
